Working to reduce the impact of chronic health issues in Arizona

Chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer are the leading cause of death and disability in the United States. They are also key contributors to the nation's $3.8 trillion in annual health care costs.

While there is no fast or easy solution, the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Foundation for Community & Health Advancement is taking action, first by tackling diabetes. One in nine Arizonans — over 600,000 — has diabetes, the seventh leading cause of death in our state.

We’re also partnering with organizations throughout Arizona to reduce the burden of other chronic health conditions including heart disease and stroke, cancer, lung disease, and others.

Together, we are supporting a healthier Arizona by expanding access to screenings, medication and medical care, and lifestyle management.
