Blue Cross® Blue Shield® of Arizona (AZ Blue) has stood for the health of its members and customers, the community, and all Arizonans for nearly a century. Inspired by AZ Blue’s philanthropic legacy, the Foundation works in service of all Arizonans, joining like-minded community partners to tackle our state’s toughest health challenges to make a real difference in people’s lives.
From the Buckle Up campaign in the ’60s to mobile health screenings in the ’80s, AZ Blue has invested millions in philanthropic funding to address unmet health needs across Arizona. In recent years, the organization brought awareness to childhood obesity and related health issues with its Walk On! program and addressed food insecurity for Arizonans living in food deserts with Nourishing Arizona.
Empowering Arizonans to speak freely about behavioral health concerns is at the heart of the #StigmaFreeAZ campaign. By reducing stigma and removing barriers to care, more Arizonans can get the help they need.

BCBSAZ charted a new path in response to the opioid epidemic and the rise in substance use disorder, mental health challenges, and diabetes. From 2018 through 2022, Mobilize AZ joined forces with organizations statewide to bridge service gaps, increase access, and promote health equity.
