Cherie Hoffman, LMSW

Health Advancement Specialist

Cherie Hoffman joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) as a health advancement specialist in April of 2022. In this role, Ms. Hoffman applies her background in social work to develop and implement programming to promote health equity and serve marginalized communities in our state. With experience in grant management, data collection, and performance metrics, she provides analytical expertise and also builds strategic partnerships with state, federal, and nonprofit organizations, as well as educational institutions, to impact health outcomes for all Arizonans.

Ms. Hoffman brings more than 25 years of experience to her position, many of those years working with children, families, and individuals within the health, behavioral health, and child welfare systems. Prior to joining the community and health advancement team at BCBSAZ, she was a children’s health program specialist for First Things First.

Previous roles include patient care manager for Aurora Behavioral Health Center in Phoenix, and implementation manager for Arizona’s Medicaid agency – Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) – where she also served as a youth grant coordinator, overseeing substance use and mental health block grants.

Ms. Hoffman holds a Master of Social Work degree from Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York, and a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology from Buffalo State College in Buffalo, New York. In 2013, Ms. Hoffman received her Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) certification from the State of Arizona. She has served on the boards of directors of the Arizona chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Arizona chapter, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Rochester, New York.
