Cameron Black, CFA, CAIA, CFP
Treasurer and Chief Investment OfficerAs treasurer and chief investment officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ), Cameron Black is responsible for the cash and investment portfolios of BCBSAZ and its subsidiaries and serves on the company’s retirement plan committee. He also oversees risk transfer strategies, including a newly formed captive insurer, and has responsibilities in corporate-wide financial planning and analysis.
Prior to joining BCBSAZ in 2006, Mr. Black held positions as an independent financial advisor and with the Translational Genomics Research (TGen) Foundation in Phoenix.
Mr. Black graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in international relations from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. He received an MBA in finance from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University in Tempe. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), and Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Mr. Black also serves on the investment committees of the Arizona State University operating fund and the Arizona Community Foundation. He previously served on the board of directors of Valley Leadership and the Phoenix Symphony and is past president of the CFA Society Phoenix.
